> A step-by-step guide to configuring email forwarding in Gmail, allowing you to forward your emails to another email address automatically.

<Note>
  This guide assumes you have access to the Gmail account from which you want to forward emails and the email address to which you want to forward them.

## Overview

Email forwarding in Gmail enables you to automatically forward incoming emails to another email address. This feature is useful for managing multiple email accounts or ensuring you receive important messages in a single inbox.

## Steps to Set Up Email Forwarding

### Step 1: Access Gmail Settings

1. Open [Gmail](https://mail.google.com/) and log in to your account.
2. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner to open the Quick settings menu.
3. Select **See all settings** to access the full settings menu.

### Step 2: Navigate to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP Tab

1. In the Gmail settings menu, click the **Forwarding and POP/IMAP** tab.

### Step 3: Add a Forwarding Address

1. In the "Forwarding" section, click **Add a forwarding address**.
2. Enter the email address to which you want to forward your emails.
3. Click **Next** and then **Proceed** in the confirmation pop-up.
4. A verification message will be sent to the forwarding email address. You'll need to confirm the forwarding request by clicking the verification link in that email.

### Step 4: Enable Forwarding

1. Once the forwarding address is verified, return to the **Forwarding and POP/IMAP** tab in Gmail settings.
2. Select **Forward a copy of incoming mail to** and choose your forwarding address from the dropdown menu.
3. Choose what you want Gmail to do with the forwarded messages (e.g., keep, delete, or mark as read).
4. Click **Save Changes** at the bottom of the page.

### Step 5: Set Up Selective Forwarding (Optional)

1. To forward only specific emails, create a filter by clicking **creating a filter** in the "Forwarding" section.
2. Set your criteria for forwarding, such as emails from a particular sender or with a specific subject line.
3. In the filter settings, choose **Forward it to** and select your forwarding address.
4. Click **Create filter** to activate selective forwarding.

## Conclusion

You have successfully set up email forwarding in Gmail. All incoming emails will now be automatically forwarded to the specified email address. You can return to the settings menu at any time to modify or disable email forwarding.

<Tip>
